The VALUE COLLECTION 722-3043 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal and engineering-grade materials. Built from M2 high speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers improved surface hardness and extended tool life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 0.5 inches in diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and a 0.375-inch shank diameter, making it a standard fractional-inch size suited to knee mills, vertical machining centers, and manual milling machines commonly used in job shops and maintenance environments. A licensed machinist or tooling technician typically selects and installs this end mill.
This end mill is suited for peripheral and slot milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similar workpiece materials. The regular-length body fits standard tool holders without requiring extended-reach setups. At 2.6875 inches overall length, it works in most R8 collets, ER collet chucks, and weldon-style side-lock holders that accept a 0.375-inch shank. It is intended for right-hand spindle rotation and mounts with right-hand flute orientation. It is not centercutting and is not suitable for direct plunge drilling into solid stock.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch replacement end mill compatible with 0.375-inch shank collets and end mill holders used on vertical knee mills, bed mills, and CNC machining centers. No specific machine model compatibility was provided by the manufacturer for this part number.
End mill installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine powered down or the spindle drive disabled per shop safety procedures. Use a torque-appropriate collet wrench or drawbar wrench to secure the holder — never hand-tighten alone for production cuts. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after mounting before taking a cut. Because this tool is not centercutting, always pre-drill or interpolate an entry when milling closed pockets.
