The VALUE COLLECTION 722-2044 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for material removal and profiling operations on a milling machine or machining center. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, this end mill offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance over uncoated HSS tooling. The cutting diameter measures 13/32 inches (0.4063 inches) with a length of cut of 13/16 inches (0.8125 inches). The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during peripheral and slot milling operations. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this style of tooling.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between replacements. With a 1/2-inch shank diameter, it fits standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders commonly found in both manual mills and CNC machining centers. The regular-length body and 3-3/4 inch overall length make it appropriate for general-purpose side milling, slotting, and profiling work where extended reach is not required.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloy workpieces. Fits any machine spindle or toolholder accepting a 1/2-inch straight shank, including standard collets and end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is placed in a safe state before changing tooling. Verify shank engagement depth meets the minimum recommended by the toolholder manufacturer to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Inspect the TiN coating and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use.
