The VALUE COLLECTION 722-1053 is a single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers improved wear resistance and tool life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 5/8 inches in diameter with a 1-5/16 inch length of cut and a 3-7/16 inch overall length. Two spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle promote chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is center-cutting and runs in a right-hand cutting direction, making it suitable for plunge and profile milling applications.
This end mill is intended for use in manual mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills where fractional-inch tooling is standard. It is a regular-length end mill appropriate for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in steel, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. The 5/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders in that bore size. Machinists and tool-room operators working in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments will find this a straightforward general-purpose cutter for everyday stock removal tasks.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for fractional-inch 5/8 inch shank square end mills in standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders sized for 5/8 inch bore.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle powered down and locked out before tooling changes. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the set screw or collet nut to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before use, and confirm runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required. Do not exceed the end mill manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
