The VALUE COLLECTION 720-9080 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it carries an 8 mm (0.3150 inch) cutting diameter and a 9/16 inch (0.5625 inch) length of cut. The two-flute, right-hand spiral geometry at a 30-degree helix angle provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. This tool is suited for use in manual mills and CNC machining centers where a general-purpose HSS end mill is specified.
This end mill fits standard milling applications in job shops, maintenance shops, and production environments. The 3/8 inch shank diameter accommodates common collet and end mill holder systems. The 2-5/16 inch overall length keeps the tool rigid during standard depth passes. It is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and other non-ferrous alloys. It is part of the VCCC-HSS-2 series, measured in metric nominal diameter.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or working-stock end mill for standard milling chucks, ER collets, and end mill holders accepting a 3/8 inch shank. Suitable for use on workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and N (aluminum and non-ferrous) per ISO material group designations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out before tool changes. Confirm collet or holder bore matches the 3/8 inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated to the recommended insertion depth for the holder type in use. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for damage before each use. Feeds and speeds should be selected based on workpiece material, machine rigidity, and depth of cut following the tool manufacturer or Machinery Handbook guidelines for M2 HSS end mills.
