The VALUE COLLECTION 720-4106 is a double-end, four-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in a wide range of shop and field environments. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, this tool delivers consistent cutting performance on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch shank diameter, with an overall length of 3-3/8 inches. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians commonly specify this style of end mill for profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling work.
This end mill is suited for use on manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and benchtop milling machines handling light to medium-duty cuts. The double-end configuration extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends before the tool is retired. Its fractional inch sizing fits standard collets and tool holders sized for 3/8 inch shanks. The bright/uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for general steel, aluminum, and plastics where a coated tool is not required. Center-cutting capability allows it to plunge directly into a workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as a standard fractional inch replacement or stock end mill for manual and CNC milling machines equipped with 3/8 inch collets or end mill holders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at a complete stop. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the collet or end mill holder per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before running. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as a damaged end mill can cause workpiece defects or tool breakage. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine guarding requirements during all milling operations.
