The VALUE COLLECTION 720-4056 is a double-end, four-flute square end mill manufactured from M2 high speed steel. It carries a 9/16-inch (0.5625-inch) cutting diameter with a 1-3/8-inch length of cut and a 5-inch overall length. The 5/8-inch shank diameter provides secure tool holding in standard milling chucks and collets. The bright, uncoated finish is suited to general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation during slotting and peripheral milling. Machinists and tooling technicians in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is designed for standard milling operations including slotting, profiling, and side milling on conventional and CNC vertical milling machines. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between replacements. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry follow industry-standard orientation. It is appropriate for use on mild steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, and similar machinable materials where a general-purpose HSS tool is specified. The regular-length body suits most standard workpiece setups without requiring extended-reach toolholders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers that accept 5/8-inch shank end mills with right-hand cutting geometry.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder before tightening to the manufacturer-specified holding torque for the chuck or collet system in use. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the work material and machine horsepower. Inspect both cutting ends for chipping or wear before each use.
