The VALUE COLLECTION 720-3539 is a single-end square end mill designed for milling flat-bottomed slots, shoulders, and profiles in a variety of materials. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool features 6 spiral flutes and a 30-degree helix angle that support efficient chip evacuation during aggressive cuts. The 2-inch mill diameter and 4-inch length of cut make it well suited for deep slot milling and long-reach applications where standard-length end mills fall short. Machinists and toolroom operators working on manual mills or CNC machining centers will find this a straightforward, serviceable option for production and maintenance work.
This end mill is intended for use on conventional and CNC knee mills, vertical machining centers, and horizontal mills operating on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The long-series geometry and 6-flute configuration make it appropriate for finish milling operations and semi-finish passes on steel, cast iron, and similar materials. It is a single-end tool, so it is not reversible once the cutting end is worn. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard, compatible with conventional spindle rotation on most production machines.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch single-end square end mill for use in milling chucks, end mill holders, and collet systems accepting a 1.25-inch shank diameter on manual and CNC milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized end mill holder or collet to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth to minimize runout. Verify spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cutting geometry of this tool before engaging the workpiece. Speeds and feeds should be selected based on workpiece material, depth of cut, and machine rigidity.
