The VALUE COLLECTION 720-3531 is a single-end, 4-flute square end mill ground from M2 high speed steel and left in a bright, uncoated finish. The cutter measures 1.5 inches in diameter with a 4-inch length of cut, making it suited for moderate to deep slotting and peripheral milling operations where tool reach is a priority. The 1.25-inch shank diameter and 6.5-inch overall length place it in the long-series category, providing added reach into deep pockets and fixtures without requiring extended-reach adapters. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is intended for use in manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and horizontal milling machines where a large-diameter, long-reach cutter is required. Typical applications include die and mold work, deep pocket roughing, and general-purpose material removal in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable alloys. The M2 HSS construction provides a good balance of toughness and wear resistance for interrupted cuts and general shop use. It is sold as a single unit and is sized for standard R8, CAT, BT, and HSK toolholders configured for a 1.25-inch shank.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock cutter for milling machines and machining centers that accept a 1.25-inch straight shank. Fits standard toolholders sized for 1-1/4 inch shank end mills across common R8, CAT 40, CAT 50, BT 40, and BT 50 collet and end mill holder configurations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding torque and runout specifications. Verify that the toolholder and spindle are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cut geometry before engaging the workpiece. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements during setup and operation.
