The VALUE COLLECTION 720-3230 is a 6-flute, single-end square end mill designed for milling operations that demand a rigid, high-capacity cutting tool. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this end mill has a 1.5-inch cutting diameter and a 2-inch length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, side milling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on manual mills and CNC machining centers will find this tool a capable choice for general-purpose material removal.
This end mill is intended for use in metalworking and machining environments where larger-diameter tooling is required. The 1.25-inch shank diameter fits standard R8, CAT, BT, and other common toolholders sized for that shank. With a right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration, it follows standard spindle rotation on most vertical and horizontal milling machines. The centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge directly into workpiece material without a pre-drilled entry point, adding versatility across roughing and finishing passes.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production end mill for standard milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 1.25-inch shank diameter toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out before tool changes. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the toolholder collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout will reduce tool life and surface quality. Always apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and observe the machine's rated spindle speed range for the tool diameter in use.
