The VALUE COLLECTION 720-3137 is a single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal and other machinable materials. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this tool delivers reliable performance in conventional milling applications where carbide is not required. It features a 1.5 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree spiral helix angle across 6 flutes. The 1 inch straight shank fits standard milling machine collets and tool holders. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on knee mills, CNC machining centers, and manual vertical mills.
This end mill suits residential shop work and light industrial machining environments. It is configured as a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a regular-length body and a 4.5 inch overall length. The 6-flute geometry supports higher feed rates compared to 4-flute designs in finishing passes and shallow cuts on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is non-centercutting and is not intended for direct plunge cuts. No chipbreaker, variable helix, variable index, or coolant-through features are present, making this a straightforward general-use tool appropriate for standard milling setups.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill with a 1 inch straight shank, compatible with milling machine spindles, R8 collet systems, and tool holders sized for 1 inch shank tooling.
This tool is installed by a machinist or tool-and-die technician into a properly sized collet or end mill holder torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is isolated before changing tooling. This end mill is non-centercutting and must not be used for direct plunge entry into solid material. Confirm shank engagement depth meets the tool holder manufacturer's minimum grip recommendation before beginning any cut.
