The VALUE COLLECTION 720-3129 is a single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Ground from M2 high speed steel, it delivers consistent edge retention across a wide range of cutting conditions. The tool measures 1.375 inches in diameter with a 2-inch length of cut and a 4.5-inch overall length. Six spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote smooth chip evacuation and a stable cut at standard milling feeds and speeds. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for M2 HSS tooling and accepts regrinding without special equipment. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on manual mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and step milling applications in job shops, maintenance departments, and production environments. The 0.75-inch shank diameter fits standard R8, CAT 40, and other common toolholders that accept a 3/4-inch shank. The regular-length geometry keeps deflection low during full-width slotting in materials such as mild steel, tool steel, and aluminum. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the industry-standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on typical vertical machining centers.
Designed for use in any toolholder accepting a 3/4-inch round shank, including R8 collets, end mill holders, and side-lock holders commonly found on vertical knee mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and tighten to the holder manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate wrench — do not use improvised tools that may damage the holder or shank. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, particularly for finish milling operations.
