The VALUE COLLECTION 720-3111 is a 6-flute square end mill designed for milling operations in steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it delivers consistent cutting performance in conventional milling applications. The 1.125-inch diameter and 2-inch length of cut make it well-suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling passes in medium to heavy stock removal. The right-hand cutting direction and 30-degree helix angle promote smooth chip evacuation and stable tool engagement. This is a single-end tool intended for use in standard vertical or horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is used in job shops, maintenance machine shops, and production environments where fractional-inch tooling is standard. The 0.75-inch shank diameter fits common R8, CAT, BT, and similar toolholders sized for 3/4-inch shanks. At 4.25 inches overall length, the regular-length profile keeps deflection low in setups where extended reach is not required. Typical applications include face milling, step milling, and closed-slot operations in mild steel, tool steel, and ductile iron workpieces.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch square end mill for use in toolholders accepting a 0.75-inch shank diameter, compatible with R8, CAT40, BT40, and similar milling machine spindle systems using 3/4-inch bore holders.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at a complete stop. A licensed machinist or qualified tooling technician should verify that the toolholder bore and collet are clean and undamaged before seating the shank. Torque the drawbar or retention knob according to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, and select feeds and speeds appropriate for M2 HSS tooling in the workpiece material.
