The VALUE COLLECTION 720-3083 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal and profile milling in metal cutting applications. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it delivers reliable performance across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cutter measures 7/8 inches in diameter with a 1-7/8 inch length of cut, a 5/8 inch shank diameter, and a 4 inch overall length. Six spiral flutes and a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. This tool is sold as a single unit and suited for use in vertical milling machines, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.
This end mill fits standard milling operations requiring a fractional-inch, regular-length tool in the 7/8 inch diameter class. It is appropriate for job shops, tool rooms, and maintenance machining environments where a general-purpose HSS cutter is specified. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional spindle setups. The 30-degree helix is well suited for side milling, slotting, and shoulder cuts in mild steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. It is not center-cutting and should not be used for direct plunge operations.
Designed as a general-purpose fractional-inch single-end square end mill in the VALUE COLLECTION VC-HSS-6 series. Fits any milling machine spindle or CNC machining center equipped with a 5/8 inch collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware per the machine manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with an indicator before cutting, and select feed and speed parameters appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
