The VALUE COLLECTION 720-2088 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for metal removal in milling operations on machining centers and manual mills. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it measures 1 inch in diameter with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut and a 5-7/8 inch overall length. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a range of ferrous workpiece materials. The double-end design extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends before replacement is required. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom professionals.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys in both production and toolroom environments. The center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as standard peripheral and slot milling. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. The regular length designation makes it appropriate for general-purpose applications where extended reach is not required.
Designed for use with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Compatible with any milling machine or machining center accepting a 1-inch straight shank tool holder. Part of the VCCCDE-HSS-2-30H series of double-end high speed steel end mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using an appropriate collet chuck, end mill holder, or Weldon-style set-screw holder sized for a 1-inch shank. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Confirm holder runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish. Follow your machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool length offsets and spindle speeds.
