The VALUE COLLECTION 720-2072 is a double-end square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous metals including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1-5/16 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree right-hand helix angle with 2 spiral flutes. The double-end design effectively doubles usable tool life before replacement. At 5 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch shank diameter, this is a standard fractional-inch tool suited for milling operations on manual mills and CNC machining centers. It is centercutting and runs in a right-hand cutting direction.
This end mill is built for general-purpose milling in machine shops, tool rooms, and production environments. It handles slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temp alloys. The regular-length configuration and fractional-inch sizing make it a straightforward replacement for standard tooling inventories. No extended reach or coolant-through capability is included, keeping this tool focused on conventional milling applications where a direct, rigid setup is preferred.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch replacement end mill for use in 3/4 inch collets, end mill holders, or Weldon-style tool holders on manual mills and CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece materials rated for this tool are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated in a properly sized holder before torquing set screws or collet nuts to the machine manufacturer's specifications. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges on both ends before use and after each tool flip.
