The VALUE COLLECTION 720-2044 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for material removal and profiling in machining operations. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it measures 0.4063 inches (13/32 inches) in cutting diameter with a 0.8125-inch (13/16-inch) length of cut and a 3.75-inch overall length. The 1/2-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and toolholders common in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. Its 30-degree helix angle and right-hand spiral flutes promote efficient chip evacuation during peripheral and slot milling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this geometry for general-purpose cutting tasks.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys in both job shop and production environments. The double-end design extends usable tool life by providing two cutting ends per tool, reducing tooling cost per operation. Its regular-length classification and fractional-inch sizing make it a straightforward fit on standard knee mills, CNC machining centers, and manual mills where 1/2-inch shank tooling is already in use. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry into the workpiece.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Fits standard 1/2-inch collets and toolholders used in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
End mill installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or toolholder is torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification using the appropriate toolholder wrenches. Inspect both cutting ends for chipping or wear before mounting. When switching to the second cutting end, clean the shank and collet bore before reassembly.
