The VALUE COLLECTION 720-2024 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it offers a 1/4 inch cutting diameter and a 1/2 inch length of cut. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 3/8 inch shank diameter and 3-1/8 inch overall length, this tool fits standard collet and end mill holders used in vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. The double-end configuration extends usable tool life by providing two cutting ends per piece.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Its right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional milling setups. The regular-length body makes it a practical choice for general-purpose material removal where extended reach is not required. Machinists working in job shops, maintenance environments, or production settings will find this a straightforward workhorse tool for common ferrous and high-temp alloy workpieces.
Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys per ISO material codes P, M, K, and S. Fits standard 3/8 inch collets and end mill holders. Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock tool for two-flute HSS square end mill applications in fractional inch tooling systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Tighten the collet or set-screw holder to the equipment manufacturer's specified torque using appropriate tooling wrenches. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting before initiating a cut.
