The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1664 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for material removal and profiling operations on ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this end mill measures 5/32 inch (0.1563 inch) in diameter with a 7/8 inch (0.8750 inch) length of cut and a 3-1/4 inch overall length. The 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces in slotting and peripheral milling applications. Both ends are fully ground and usable, extending tool life per sharpening cycle. It is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys in manual mill and CNC machining center applications. The long-length body gives additional reach for deeper pocket work where a standard-length tool would not clear the part setup. The 3/16 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders found on Bridgeport-style knee mills and comparable CNC verticals. Machinists in tool and die, maintenance, and production environments will find this size useful for fine slotting, keyway cutting, and light profiling passes.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch replacement end mill compatible with any 3/16 inch collet or end mill holder; suitable for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys per ISO material codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tool room technician using a compatible collet chuck or end mill holder torqued per the machine manufacturer specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered off before changing tooling. Inspect both cutting ends for edge condition before use; a damaged edge on one end does not preclude use of the opposite end. Follow shop-specific speeds and feeds for M2 HSS tooling on the intended workpiece material.
