The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1658 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill machined from M2 high speed steel. It carries a 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch) cutting diameter with a 9/32 inch (0.2813 inch) length of cut and a 3/16 inch shank diameter. The bright, uncoated finish and 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry suit general-purpose milling in a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. At 2-5/8 inches overall length, this long-series tool fits standard CNC mills, knee mills, and manual vertical mills where additional reach is needed without sacrificing rigidity.
This end mill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece, expanding its usefulness in slotting, profiling, and pocket-milling operations. The double-end configuration provides a second cutting edge when the first end shows wear, extending tool life per unit. It is a practical choice for job shops, tool rooms, and maintenance machining environments where a compact, fractional-inch diameter tool is required for fine detail work.
Designed as a general-purpose fractional-inch end mill compatible with standard ER collet systems, end mill holders, and milling chucks that accept a 3/16 inch shank diameter. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom professional. Secure the 3/16 inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as small-diameter tools are sensitive to spindle and holder runout. Always set spindle speed and feed rate according to published HSS cutting data for the target workpiece material before engaging the cut.
