The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1656 is a double-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it features a 3/32 inch cutting diameter and a 9/32 inch length of cut. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry supports efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With two flutes and a centercutting design, this tool handles both plunge and peripheral milling. It is a standard fractional-inch tool suited for manual mills, CNC mills, and drill presses used in toolroom and production environments.
This end mill is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys in applications requiring a small-diameter tool. The long-series overall length of 2-5/8 inches provides additional reach for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations where standard-length tools cannot access the workpiece. The double-end configuration allows use of both cutting ends, extending tool life between replacements. Typical users include machinists, tool and die makers, and production mill operators working with tight-tolerance features in hard materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard toolroom end mill compatible with milling machine spindles and tool holders accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter, including ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and similar fractional-inch toolholding systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and verify runout before beginning the cut. Follow applicable machine tool manufacturer guidelines and shop safety protocols when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for M2 high speed steel tooling.
