The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1654 is a double-end, square profile end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking applications. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, this tool features a 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) cutting diameter and a 1/4 inch length of cut. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and clean edge finish on a range of ferrous materials. With two flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, it is suited for slotting, profiling, and light plunge cuts. Licensed machinists and toolroom professionals install and operate this tool in CNC and manual milling setups.
This end mill is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, and S. The double-end design extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends before replacement. The 3/16 inch shank diameter and 2-1/2 inch overall length classify this as a long-series tool, making it well suited for reaching into shallow pockets and slots where a standard-length mill would not fit. It is appropriate for both production and toolroom environments requiring small-diameter precision work.
Compatible with milling machines accepting a 3/16 inch shank, including CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Designed for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys (ISO material codes P, M, K, S).
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom professionals familiar with proper tool holding and speeds and feeds for high speed steel end mills. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and undamaged before installing or removing the tool. Use an appropriate collet or end mill holder sized for a 3/16 inch shank to prevent runout. Follow the machine manufacturer and OSHA guidelines for eye protection, guarding, and safe operating procedures during milling operations.
