The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1612 is a double-end, square-profile end mill designed for milling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Ground from M2 high speed steel and left uncoated (bright finish), it measures 0.125 inches in cutting diameter with a 0.1875-inch length of cut and a matching 0.1875-inch shank diameter. The 2-inch overall length places it in the stub category. With two spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cut and flute direction, it provides efficient chip evacuation and a clean square shoulder in ferrous materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for light to medium milling passes in ferrous and high-temp alloy workpieces including steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), cast iron (ISO K), and high-temperature alloys (ISO S). The double-end configuration extends tool life by offering a second usable cutting end, making it a practical choice for high-volume production runs or cost-conscious job shops. The stub length and 0.125-inch diameter make it appropriate for slots, pockets, and profiling cuts where rigidity and minimal overhang are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for milling applications requiring a 0.125-inch diameter, 0.1875-inch shank, double-end square end mill in high speed steel. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys per ISO material codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists operating CNC mills or manual knee mills. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and tighten to the machine manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate wrench — do not use excessive force on small-diameter shanks, as distortion can affect runout. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and use appropriate cutting speeds and feed rates for M2 HSS in the target workpiece material.
