The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1573 is a single-end, square-profile end mill ground from M2 high speed steel and intended for milling aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. The cutter measures 1.75 inches in diameter with a 4-inch length of cut, a 1.25-inch shank diameter, and a 6.5-inch overall length, placing it in the long-series category. Two right-hand spiral flutes with a 37-degree helix angle provide efficient chip evacuation at typical milling feeds and speeds for non-ferrous stock. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for HSS tooling used in aluminum applications where coating is unnecessary or undesirable. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this tool.
This end mill is suited for conventional and climb milling operations in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. Its long-series proportions make it appropriate for setups requiring extended reach, such as deep-pocket roughing or profiling operations where standard-length tooling cannot reach the floor of the feature. The 1.25-inch shank diameter accommodates common side-lock, collet, or Weldon-style end mill holders found in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cutting tool for standard 1.25-inch end mill holders in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and similar milling setups where a long-series, 2-flute HSS square end mill is required for non-ferrous material removal.
A licensed machinist or qualified CNC operator should install this tool following shop safety and machine lockout/tagout procedures before loading or unloading any cutting tool. Ensure the shank is clean and free of burrs before seating in the holder, and torque set screws or collet nuts to machine-manufacturer specifications. Do not exceed the recommended surface footage and chip load values published for M2 HSS tooling in non-ferrous materials. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear at regular intervals and remove the tool from service before edge deterioration affects workpiece finish or dimensional accuracy.
