The Value Collection 720-1533 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal and profile milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this tool features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 2-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 4-5/8 inch overall length. The 2-flute spiral geometry with a 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, particularly in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and tool and die professionals working with manual mills or CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in aluminum and non-ferrous workpieces. The long series length type provides extended reach for deeper pockets or stepped features where a standard-length tool cannot access. The 5/8 inch shank diameter matches the 5/8 inch cutting diameter for a balanced, rigid setup. Centercutting capability allows for direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. No coolant-through capability is present, so external flood or mist coolant is the appropriate delivery method for this tool.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard 5/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and side-lock holders used in vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers. Part of the VCCC-HSS-2-AL series, intended primarily for aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine powered down and in a locked-out, tagged-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the shank is clean and seated fully in the holder before torquing set screws or collet nuts to the holder manufacturer's specification. Use appropriate cutting fluid or mist coolant during operation, as this tool does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace when edge condition degrades to avoid workpiece damage or tool breakage.
