The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1455 is a single-end ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, slots, and complex 3D profiles in a wide range of materials. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers reliable cutting performance in general-purpose machining applications. It features a 1/4-inch mill diameter, a 5/8-inch length of cut, and a right-hand cutting and flute direction with a spiral flute geometry. The 3/8-inch shank diameter provides solid tool holding in standard end mill holders and collet chucks. With an extended reach design and a 1-1/2-inch reach length, it is well suited for accessing deeper features without sacrificing rigidity.
This ball end mill is used in manual milling machines and CNC machining centers for light-to-medium duty work on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites. The ball nose geometry generates a smooth radius on profiled cuts, making it a standard choice for die and mold work, ramp milling, and 3D contouring. The single-end configuration and 3-1/16-inch overall length keep it compact for tight setups. It is typically installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling machine spindles accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter. Suitable for manual knee mills and CNC vertical machining centers.
Installation is performed by machinists using appropriate collet chucks or end mill holders rated for the 3/8-inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Verify runout at the tool tip after installation to confirm proper seating and minimize premature wear. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rates and spindle speeds appropriate to the workpiece material and depth of cut.
