The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1423 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, slotting, and profiling operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. The tool features a 3/4 inch diameter cutting head with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, giving machinists enough reach for moderate-depth passes while maintaining rigidity. Constructed from M2 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it provides solid wear resistance across general-purpose machining tasks. The 2-flute spiral geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and is well suited to applications where cutting pressure and heat buildup must be managed. Installed in standard end mill holders or collet chucks, this tool is a reliable choice for job shops and production environments alike.
This ball end mill is intended for use in vertical milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills where 3D contouring, radius profiling, and die work are common operations. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional spindle configurations found in most shop environments. It is appropriate for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites at moderate speeds and feeds. Machinists working on mold cavities, ramps, and blended surfaces will find the ball nose geometry particularly useful for finishing passes.
Designed as a standard single-end ball end mill compatible with 3/4 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling chucks used in vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the tool holder before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine manufacturer guidelines for appropriate spindle speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut for the specific workpiece material.
