The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1411 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, slotting, and profiling operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 7/16 inch cutting diameter and a 1 inch length of cut, giving machinists the reach needed for moderate-depth passes without sacrificing rigidity. The 2-flute geometry and right-hand spiral flute direction support efficient chip evacuation, making this tool well-suited for both roughing and light finishing work. Constructed from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this end mill delivers reliable performance in general-purpose CNC and manual milling applications.
This ball end mill is intended for use in job shop, tool room, and production machining environments where contoured surfaces, radii, and 3D profiles are common. The 1/2 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling machine spindles. It is a practical choice for machinists working with steels, aluminum, brass, and plastics where a cost-effective HSS tool is appropriate over carbide. The standard length designation and 3 inch overall length make it a straightforward drop-in for most benchtop and vertical knee mills as well as CNC machining centers handling lighter cuts.
Designed as a standard-geometry single-end ball end mill compatible with any milling machine or machining center spindle accepting a 1/2 inch shank end mill holder or collet.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder or collet to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer before torquing the retention screw or nut. Inspect the shank and cutting edges for damage before each use; do not run a chipped or visibly worn end mill.
