The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1255 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in machine shops and manufacturing environments. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it features a 1 inch cutting diameter and a 3 inch length of cut, giving machinists substantial depth capacity for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The 2-flute geometry and 30-degree right-hand spiral helix promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working with manual mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into a workpiece, which expands its usefulness across roughing and finishing passes. With a 1 inch shank diameter and 5.5 inch overall length, it fits standard R8, CAT, BT, and similar toolholders sized for 1 inch shanks. The regular-length geometry keeps deflection manageable during aggressive cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous stock.
Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous alloys. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for any milling machine or machining center accepting a 1 inch straight shank end mill.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder collet or end mill adapter and torque the drawbar or retention mechanism per the machine manufacturer specification before engaging the spindle. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against published HSS cutting data for the specific workpiece material before beginning the cut. Never exceed the rated depth of cut for the flute length, and always use appropriate cutting fluid to extend tool life and maintain surface finish.
