The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1253 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal and profile milling in metalworking applications. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it runs a 1 inch cutting diameter with a 2.5 inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle. The two-flute spiral configuration promotes chip evacuation and suits slotting, peripheral milling, and plunge cutting operations. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow standard milling conventions. The 1 inch shank diameter matches common collet and end mill holder sizes found in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills alike.
This end mill is suited for shops running general-purpose milling on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum or other non-ferrous materials. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, making it practical for die work, pocket milling, and step machining. The regular-length body keeps the tool rigid under cutting loads, reducing deflection in typical depth-of-cut passes. It is a practical choice for job shops, tool rooms, and maintenance machining environments where a reliable uncoated HSS end mill is needed for mixed-material work.
Designed for use with standard 1 inch collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials per material codes P, M, K, and N.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or locked-out state per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify shank seating depth and holder runout before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on HSS tooling. Torque the drawbar or set screw to the tool holder specification and confirm tool projection matches the programmed depth of cut before starting the spindle.
