The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1177 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in machine shop and manufacturing environments. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 5/16-inch cutting diameter and a 2-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration suits standard CNC and manual milling setups. The centercutting design allows plunge cutting in addition to peripheral and slot milling. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is suited for light to medium material removal in steel, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials. The regular-length body with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 1-3/4-inch reach length makes it appropriate for standard depth slot milling, profiling, and step cutting. The 3/8-inch shank fits common ER collet chucks and end mill holders found on knee mills, bed mills, and CNC machining centers. The 3-5/16-inch overall length keeps the tool rigid enough for general production work without excessive overhang.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch single-end square end mill for use in 3/8-inch ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or side-lock holders on knee mills, vertical machining centers, and CNC milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully powered down and locked before tool changes. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or holder is torqued according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when machining ferrous materials.
