The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1109 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal and slotting operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this tool measures 1-1/16 inches in diameter with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut. The 3/4 inch shank diameter and 3-3/4 inch overall length fit standard milling machine and CNC spindle toolholders. Two spiral flutes with a 30-degree right-hand helix provide efficient chip evacuation during conventional and climb milling passes. Center-cutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling in job shop, maintenance, and production environments. It handles peripheral milling, slotting, and shoulder milling on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The bright uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice for aluminum and non-ferrous applications where coating adhesion can be a concern, while the M2 HSS grade retains adequate toughness for interrupted cuts in cast iron and mild steel. It is sold as a single-piece unit and is appropriate for manual knee mills and light-duty CNC machining centers.
Designed for use with standard 3/4 inch straight-shank milling chucks, collet holders, and Weldon-style side-lock holders on knee mills and CNC machining centers. Listed primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous metals.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the 3/4 inch shank fully into the toolholder to the minimum recommended engagement depth for the holder type in use. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces surface finish quality.
