The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1041 is a single-end, two-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling in machine shop and production environments. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it features a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 13/16 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch shank diameter for use in standard milling chucks and collet holders. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With centercutting capability, this end mill can be plunged directly into a workpiece, adding versatility for slotting, profiling, and ramping operations. Machinists and tool and die technicians reach for this tool in both manual and CNC milling setups.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. At 2.5 inches overall length and a regular length classification, it fits standard tool holders without requiring extended-reach tooling. It is well matched to light-to-medium duty milling operations on knee mills, bridgeports, and CNC machining centers where a compact, reliable HSS cutter is needed. No coolant-through capability is present, so external flood or mist coolant is the recommended approach when cutting ferrous materials.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch replacement or working end mill compatible with milling machines that accept a 3/8 inch shank diameter, including collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpieces as indicated by workpiece material codes P, M, K, and N.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout tolerance. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder to minimize deflection and vibration. Always verify spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cut specification of this tool before operation.
