The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1007 is a single-end, square-profile end mill ground from M2 high speed steel and finished bright/uncoated. It carries an 11/64 inch (0.1719 inch) cutting diameter with a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) length of cut and a 2-5/16 inch overall length. Two right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle clear chips efficiently and generate a clean square shoulder in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this geometry when slotting, profiling, or peripheral milling at small diameters where rigidity and edge retention in M2 steel are priorities.
This end mill is suited to milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous alloys. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders common on knee mills, CNC machining centers, and benchtop mills used in production, maintenance, and job-shop environments. The regular-length body keeps deflection low at this diameter, making it appropriate for finishing passes and precise feature work where dimensional accuracy matters.
Designed for use with standard 3/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on manual knee mills, CNC vertical machining centers, and similar milling equipment. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation is performed by a machinist or qualified toolroom technician. Before mounting, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, and confirm that cutting speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
