The VALUE COLLECTION 704363PR is a 1/4-20 UNC cone point set screw manufactured from austenitic Grade A2 stainless steel. Set screws are headless fasteners used to secure a component, such as a collar, pulley, or gear, against a shaft by applying direct point pressure. The cone point tip concentrates clamping force into a small area, making it well suited for permanent or semi-permanent assemblies where the point can seat into a matching recess. Drive is a 1/8-inch hex socket. The part meets ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F880 standards. At 1/4 inch overall length, this screw fits compact assemblies where space is limited. Minimum order quantity is 100 pieces.
This set screw is used across mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical assembly applications wherever a shaft-to-hub connection requires reliable axial and rotational locking. Cone point geometry is preferred in applications where the fastener will engage a pre-drilled or center-punched dimple in the mating component. Grade A2 stainless steel provides corrosion resistance suitable for indoor mechanical assemblies and moderately wet environments. Typical installers include millwrights, HVAC technicians, and general maintenance professionals working on motors, fan assemblies, and drive components.
Designed as a standard 1/4-20 UNC cone point set screw for use in any tapped hole conforming to ASME/ANSI B18.3 dimensional requirements.
Set screws are installed using a 1/8-inch hex key or Allen wrench; ensure the driver is fully seated before applying torque to avoid rounding the socket. De-energize or lock out any rotating equipment before servicing shaft-mounted components. For cone point set screws engaging a smooth shaft, a center-punch dimple in the shaft is recommended to prevent the fastener from walking under load. Confirm thread engagement depth meets engineering requirements before placing the assembly into service.
