The VALUE COLLECTION 6RSB1*3/8 is a threaded pipe reducer fitting designed to transition from a 1-inch female pipe thread to a 3/8-inch female pipe thread in a single inline connection. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, this fitting resists corrosion in aggressive media including chlorides, mild acids, and saltwater environments. It carries a pressure rating of 150 psi at standard service conditions and is built to Schedule 40 dimensions. The FNPT x FNPT end connections allow it to thread directly onto male-threaded pipe or nipples on both ends. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this fitting in process piping, instrumentation lines, and utility systems where a reduction in line size is required.
This reducer is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, industrial process lines, chemical handling systems, and marine applications where 316 stainless steel is specified over the more common 304 grade. The fitting measures 1-11/16 inches in length and is well-suited for tight installations where space is limited. It is commonly installed in potable water systems, compressed air lines, hydraulic return lines, and food-grade process piping. Both connections are female NPT, meaning standard tapered male NPT pipe ends or nipples are required on the mating components at both the inlet and outlet.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded reducer for Schedule 40 piping systems using standard NPT male-threaded pipe, nipples, or fittings on both the 1-inch and 3/8-inch ends.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and ASME B31.3 piping codes. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing any existing fitting or making new connections. Apply PTFE thread tape or an appropriate pipe thread sealant to the male NPT threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus wrench turns as required by the pipe size and sealant manufacturer guidance. Avoid over-torquing stainless steel threaded fittings, as galling can occur on the threads.
