The VALUE COLLECTION 63585 is a 1/4-20 UNC cup point set screw manufactured from Grade 316 stainless steel. At 1/4 inch in overall length, this headless fastener seats flush with or below the surface of the mating part, applying clamping force through its cup point to resist rotational and axial movement. Driven with a 1/8-inch hex key, it is well suited for applications where corrosion resistance is a priority. Each package contains 25 pieces. Maintenance technicians, machinists, and mechanical contractors install these screws in shaft collars, shaft couplings, pulleys, and similar mechanical assemblies.
Cup point set screws in Grade 316 stainless steel are commonly used in wet, washdown, or mildly corrosive environments where carbon steel fasteners would corrode prematurely. Typical applications include marine equipment, food processing machinery, HVAC equipment mounts, pump shaft assemblies, and plumbing fixture components. The 1/4-20 UNC thread is one of the most common thread forms in North American mechanical equipment, making this screw a frequent maintenance and repair item across residential and light commercial trade work.
Designed as a standard 1/4-20 UNC cup point set screw for use in any mechanical assembly requiring a headless fastener with that thread form and a 1/8-inch hex drive.
Installation requires a 1/8-inch hex key or Allen wrench; use a calibrated torque driver where the assembly specifies a torque value. De-energize and lock out any rotating equipment before accessing shaft collars or couplings. Avoid over-tightening stainless steel set screws, as the material is prone to galling on stainless threads — apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to reduce that risk. Fastener selection and installation in pressure-bearing or structural assemblies should follow applicable mechanical codes and the equipment manufacturer's service documentation.
