The VALUE COLLECTION 625-0350 is a magnetic indicator base designed to hold dial indicators, test indicators, and similar precision measurement instruments during inspection and machining setups. The base uses a switchable permanent magnet to secure to ferrous surfaces, allowing the operator to position and reposition the indicator without tools. At 60 kg of magnetic pull force, the base provides firm, vibration-resistant holding on machine tables, surface plates, lathe beds, and similar ferrous workholding surfaces. An integrated on/off switch controls the magnetic field, making placement and removal fast and repeatable. A post and rod arm style provides flexible reach and angular adjustment for a wide range of indicator positioning needs.
This indicator base is suited for metrology and quality control applications in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and tool rooms. Typical use cases include runout checks, surface flatness measurement, part alignment during setup, and in-process inspection on mills, lathes, and grinders. The M10x1.25 threaded connection allows compatibility with standard indicator holders and accessories. The compact base footprint makes it practical in tight setups where space around a workpiece is limited.
Designed as a general-purpose magnetic indicator base compatible with dial indicators and test indicators mounted via standard M10x1.25 threaded post and rod arm accessories.
A licensed machinist or metrology technician typically sets up and operates this base. Before placing the base, confirm the target surface is clean, flat, and free of chips or debris that could compromise magnetic contact and measurement accuracy. Engage the on/off switch only after the base is positioned on the workpiece or machine surface to avoid uncontrolled attraction to adjacent ferrous components. Do not use on non-ferrous surfaces such as aluminum, brass, or granite surface plates, as the magnetic circuit will not function.
