The VALUE COLLECTION 615-6615 is a telescoping gage designed for measuring inside diameters, bores, and slots within a range of 2-1/8 to 3-1/2 inches. The gage extends to contact the bore wall, locks in place, and is then measured with an outside micrometer to determine the internal dimension. Overall length is 5.85 inches, and the handle measures 5 inches long. The body is constructed from hardened tool steel with a satin chrome finish for corrosion resistance and durability. Machinists, millwrights, and HVAC or plumbing technicians use this type of gage when verifying bore sizes during component inspection or installation.
This telescoping gage is suited for trade and shop applications where inside diameter measurements are required. Typical uses include checking pipe bore diameters, valve seats, pump housings, cylinder bores, and fitting seats. The 2-1/8 to 3-1/2 inch range covers common bore sizes found in residential and light commercial mechanical systems. It is a hand tool requiring no power source, making it practical for field service and bench work alike.
Designed as a general-purpose telescoping gage for inside diameter measurement applications where the bore falls within the 2-1/8 to 3-1/2 inch range. Used in conjunction with an outside micrometer to obtain final measurements.
A licensed machinist, millwright, or qualified technician typically uses this gage during inspection or service procedures. Before taking a measurement, ensure the bore surface is clean and free of debris that could affect contact. Compress the gage, insert it into the bore at a slight angle, allow the plungers to contact the bore wall, then tighten the lock and carefully withdraw the gage for micrometer measurement. Do not force the gage into a bore smaller than the minimum range, as this can damage the locking mechanism.
