The VALUE COLLECTION 612-5912 is a dial bore gage set designed for measuring internal bore diameters with precision across multiple size ranges. The included dial indicator and six anvil configurations allow a single instrument to cover a wide measurement spectrum, from 0.7 inches up to 16 inches depending on the anvil selected. This type of gage is standard equipment in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and any trade environment where bore tolerances must be verified during equipment service, repair, or quality inspection. The set ships with a plastic storage case to protect the instrument and accessories between uses.
The primary anvil range is 1.4 to 2.4 inches in diameter, making this set well suited for checking bores on pump housings, motor frames, cylinder bores, valve bodies, and similar components encountered in HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical service. Additional plug-to-style anvils extend the range to cover 2 to 4 inches, 2 to 6 inches, 6 to 10 inches, and 10 to 16 inches. A screw-to-style anvil set with a 0.1 inch step covers 0.7 to 1.5 inches. This flexibility reduces the need for multiple gages on a service vehicle or shop bench.
Designed as a general-purpose dial bore gage set suitable for use in machine shops, maintenance environments, and trade service applications requiring internal diameter measurement across multiple bore sizes.
Dial bore gages are precision measuring instruments and should be handled by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with proper zeroing and calibration procedures. Before use, zero the gage against a known ring gage or micrometer setting to ensure accurate readings. Avoid dropping or applying side pressure to the indicator, as this can affect calibration. Store the instrument in the provided case when not in use to protect the dial indicator and anvil tips.
