The VALUE COLLECTION 602396PR is a 1/2-13 x 1-3/4 inch cup point set screw manufactured from Austenitic Grade A2 stainless steel. It uses a 1/4 inch hex (Allen) drive and conforms to ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F880 standards. The cup point geometry bites into mating surfaces to resist rotation and axial movement under load. This fastener is suited for maintenance, mechanical assembly, and industrial applications where corrosion resistance and reliable clamping force are required. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This set screw is used in shaft-collar assemblies, gear hubs, pulleys, and similar mechanical components where a flush or below-surface fastener is needed. The UNC thread form (1/2-13) is the standard coarse-thread designation for this diameter, making it broadly compatible with tapped holes in standard UNC-threaded components. The stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for environments with moisture exposure or where mild chemical resistance is needed.
Designed for use in any tapped through-hole or blind hole with a 1/2-13 UNC thread form requiring an ASME/ANSI B18.3 compliant cup point set screw.
Installation requires a 1/4 inch hex key or Allen driver. Ensure the tapped hole is clean and free of debris before threading in the screw. Torque to the assembly specification for the application — do not over-drive, as stainless fasteners are susceptible to galling. Always de-energize or lock out any rotating machinery before servicing shaft or collar assemblies.
