The VALUE COLLECTION 601549BR is a cup point set screw used to secure components onto shafts, hubs, or other mating surfaces without a protruding head. Sized 1-1/4-7 UNC x 2 inches overall length, it is machined from alloy steel to ASTM F912 standards and conforms to ASME/ANSI B18.3 dimensional requirements. The cup point geometry bites into the mating surface to resist rotation and axial movement under load. A 5/8-inch hex socket drive allows precise torque application with a standard hex key or Allen-type driver. This fastener is installed by machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians in industrial, mechanical, and HVAC equipment assemblies.
This set screw is suited for general industrial and mechanical applications requiring a flush or sub-flush fastener to lock shafts, pulleys, gears, collars, or couplings in position. The cup point style is the most common choice for permanent or semi-permanent installations where the point is expected to indent the mating surface for positive retention. It is appropriate for use in both light and heavy mechanical assemblies across commercial and industrial environments.
Designed as a standard ASME/ANSI B18.3 cup point set screw suitable for any threaded hole or tapped bore accepting a 1-1/4-7 UNC thread pattern.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a 5/8-inch hex key. De-energize and lock out any rotating equipment before installing or adjusting set screws per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the mating threaded bore is clean and free of debris before threading the screw in. Do not exceed the torque capacity appropriate for the alloy steel grade and thread size as specified in applicable fastener engineering references.
