The VALUE COLLECTION 60052TA is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in indexable milling cutters. It features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which improves heat resistance and tool life when cutting ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The insert is octagon-shaped with a PS chip breaker style and carries an ANSI code of PS45L-MTC357A2. It measures 5/8 inch in length, 5/8 inch in width, and 3/16 inch in thickness, with a 1/16 inch corner radius and a positive rake geometry. With 8 cutting edges, this single-sided insert is suited for productive milling operations across a range of workpiece materials. Material grade is C5, also noted as manufacturer grade Ultra-Carb 5. Insert holding method is screw-on. Cutting edges are honed for consistent engagement.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — primary workpiece material codes P, M, and S. It is compatible with the Freedom cutter series and follows the O-PS-062-5-2-TA series designation. Typical install scenarios include face milling and shoulder milling operations in job shop, aerospace, and general machining environments where tool life and surface finish consistency are priorities. The neutral hand designation allows flexible positioning in compatible cutter bodies.
Designed for use with the Freedom cutter series. ANSI code PS45L-MTC357A2 and ISO code PS45L-MTC357A2. Suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials (material codes P, M, S).
Installation is performed by machining professionals or CNC setup technicians using a torx or hex key drive to seat the screw-on insert securely in the cutter body pocket. Ensure the cutter body is fully de-energized and the machine is in a locked-out, tagged-out state before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or wear before installing a new insert. Do not exceed the cutter body's rated RPM or feed rate specifications for this insert geometry.
