The VALUE COLLECTION 580879PR is a 3/8-16 unified coarse thread (UNC) flat head slotted machine screw rated at Grade 2 steel with a zinc finish. It measures 3 inches overall length with full threading along the shank. The flat head profile seats flush with or below the surface of the mating material, making it a standard choice in structural assembly, equipment mounting, and general mechanical fastening applications. This screw is sold in a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces per order, appropriate for production or service-shop inventory replenishment. Installation is performed with common hand or power tools by mechanics, maintenance technicians, and general contractors.
This machine screw is suited for use in light-duty structural and mechanical assemblies where a flush or countersunk fastener is required. The 3/8-16 UNC thread is one of the most common coarse-thread sizes in inch-standard hardware, compatible with standard 3/8-16 nuts, threaded inserts, and tapped holes in steel, aluminum, and similar materials. Typical applications include equipment panels, framing fixtures, HVAC cabinet assembly, electrical enclosure hardware, and general fabrication work. The zinc finish provides basic corrosion resistance for indoor and light-duty outdoor use. This screw does not include a washer.
Designed as a standard inch-series machine screw for use with 3/8-16 UNC tapped holes, threaded inserts, and hex nuts across general mechanical and structural assemblies.
Installation is performed with a flat-blade screwdriver or matching slotted power bit. Ensure the mating hole is tapped or threaded to 3/8-16 UNC specification before driving. For through-bolt applications, use a properly rated 3/8-16 nut and washer as required by the assembly design. Do not overtighten Grade 2 fasteners beyond the torque ratings specified in the assembly engineering documentation.
