The VALUE COLLECTION 534168PR is a metric flat socket cap screw engineered for applications requiring a flush or countersunk fastener profile. Built to DIN 7991 standard, this screw features a 90-degree flat head with a hex socket drive and is manufactured from 12.9 grade alloy steel, the highest commonly used strength grade for metric fasteners. The black oxide finish provides moderate corrosion resistance and reduces light reflection on exposed surfaces. Partial threading along the 70 mm overall length allows the smooth shank to bear shear loads in precision assemblies. Machinists, millwrights, and mechanical contractors specify this grade when high clamp force in a low-profile fastener is required.
This screw is suited for machine frames, fixtures, tooling plates, and mechanical assemblies where a countersunk socket drive is needed to keep the fastener head flush with or below the mating surface. The M10x1.5 thread pitch is a standard coarse metric thread, making it compatible with tapped holes in steel, aluminum, and cast iron components across industrial, manufacturing, and OEM maintenance applications. The hex socket drive requires a 6 mm hex key for installation and removal.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or stock fastener for metric countersunk socket cap screw applications following DIN 7991 specifications with an M10x1.5 thread and 70 mm overall length.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or millwright familiar with metric fastener torque requirements for 12.9 grade hardware. Ensure the mating countersunk hole is machined to the correct 90-degree included angle to achieve proper head seating before applying final torque. Use a calibrated torque wrench and a properly sized 6 mm hex key or bit to avoid rounding the drive socket. Never reuse fasteners that show signs of thread damage, galling, or head deformation.
