The Value Collection 533022PR is an M4 x 0.70 x 8 mm cup point set screw manufactured from alloy steel to Grade 14.9 (45H). Set screws are headless fasteners that thread fully into a tapped hole and bear directly against a mating surface or shaft to resist rotation or axial movement. The cup point geometry bites into the contact surface for a secure grip without requiring a protruding head. This fastener is driven with a 2 mm hex key and conforms to DIN 916, the standard governing metric hexagon socket set screws with cup point. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and industrial assembly professionals routinely specify this fastener in precision mechanical assemblies.
This set screw is suited for applications where a flush or recessed fastener is required and space does not permit a standard headed cap screw. Common installations include shaft collars, shaft couplings, gear hubs, pulleys, and mechanical stops on production equipment, conveyor systems, and general industrial machinery. The M4 thread size and 8 mm overall length make it appropriate for light- to medium-duty clamping and positioning tasks in compact assemblies. Minimum order quantity is 100 pieces per the supplier specification.
Designed as a standard DIN 916 metric cup point set screw for use in any metrically tapped M4 x 0.70 hole requiring a headless fastener with cup point engagement.
Set screws of this type are installed and removed by a licensed machinist or qualified maintenance technician using a 2 mm hex key. De-energize and lock out all rotating or powered equipment before installing or removing set screws on shafts or couplings. Apply only the torque appropriate for an M4 Grade 14.9 fastener as specified by the equipment manufacturer or applicable fastener standards. Do not overtighten, as the cup point can deform soft shaft materials if excessive torque is applied.
