The VALUE COLLECTION 533019PR is an M4 x 0.70 x 5 mm cup point set screw manufactured from alloy steel to Grade 14.9 (45H). Set screws are fully threaded fasteners with no head, designed to secure a component — such as a collar, gear, or pulley — to a shaft by biting into the shaft surface at the cup point. This screw conforms to DIN 916 and uses a 2 mm hex key drive. Grade 14.9 (45H) alloy steel provides high tensile and torsional strength, making it suited to demanding mechanical assembly applications where a standard carbon steel fastener would not hold up under load or vibration.
This set screw is used in precision mechanical assemblies across industrial, HVAC, and equipment maintenance applications. Typical installations include securing set collars, sprockets, pulleys, and knobs to shafts in light and medium-duty machinery. The cup point geometry creates a small indent in the shaft for positive retention without causing the shaft damage associated with cone or oval point designs. Metric thread standard and DIN 916 compliance make this screw compatible with metric-spec equipment common in commercial HVAC systems, pumps, and imported machinery. Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces.
Designed as a DIN 916 metric set screw for use in any M4 x 0.70 threaded application requiring a cup point, headless hex-drive fastener. Compatible with standard M4 metric tapped holes per DIN 916 specification.
Installation is performed by machinists, maintenance technicians, or HVAC service professionals using a 2 mm hex key. Ensure the mating threaded hole is clean and free of debris before installation. De-energize and lock out any equipment before servicing assemblies that contain set screws. Do not exceed the recommended seating torque for the fastener size, and verify shaft and collar materials are compatible with the cup point contact to avoid unintended galling.
