This collet accepts 3/4-inch hex stock and holds it with a Total Indicator Runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inch, supporting precise, repeatable workholding on hex bar or hex-profile workpieces. The internal thread measures 1.041 inch-24 and the external thread measures 1.242 inch-20, matching standard 5C spindle and closer interfaces. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet when production work demands accurate hex-profile gripping with minimal runout.
This collet is suited for manual and CNC lathes, rotary tables, and indexing fixtures equipped with a 5C spindle. It is the correct choice when machining or holding hex bar stock at 3/4-inch across-flats dimension. Typical applications include turning, threading, light milling, and inspection operations where a hex collet replaces a standard round collet to prevent workpiece rotation and maintain angular orientation.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the collet. Inspect the collet bore, taper, and threads for chips or damage before seating; debris on the taper will directly increase runout. Do not exceed the rated hex capacity, as overloading the collet jaws can cause permanent distortion and loss of accuracy.
