The VALUE COLLECTION 530-4326 is a 5C hex steel collet designed for use in 5C collet-ready lathes, indexers, and fixtures. It accepts hex stock in the 13/32 inch size and delivers a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, making it suitable for precision turning, milling, and grinding operations that require repeatable workholding accuracy. The collet features a 1.041 inch-24 internal thread and a 1.242 inch-20 external thread for secure engagement with compatible closers and fixtures. Machined from steel, this collet provides the rigidity and wear resistance required for consistent production work on hex-profile stock.
This collet is intended for use in machine shops, tool rooms, and production environments where hex bar stock or hex-profile workpieces must be held concentrically in a 5C spindle. It is well suited for repetitive operations on screw machines, manual lathes, CNC lathes with 5C spindle noses, and rotary indexing fixtures. The hex geometry prevents workpiece rotation during cutting, making it the standard choice when machining hex stock that requires flat-oriented operations.

Installation and removal should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate 5C collet closer or draw tube to engage the internal thread; do not overtighten by hand or with improvised tools. Inspect the collet bore and spindle taper for chips or burrs before seating to avoid false runout readings. Always verify TIR with a dial indicator after installation before beginning a production run.
