The VALUE COLLECTION 516164 is a bullet-shaped mounted polishing bob made from rock-hard wool felt, designed for precision polishing, deburring, and surface finishing applications. The 3/4-inch maximum diameter head seats on a 1/4-inch shank, making it compatible with standard die grinders, rotary tools, and bench-mounted spindles. The wool felt construction holds polishing compounds effectively, delivering consistent contact pressure across curved and contoured surfaces. At just under 0.04 pounds, this lightweight bob reduces operator fatigue during extended finishing runs. It is used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, jewelers, and metal fabricators who need controlled, repeatable surface results.
This mounted polishing bob is suited for finishing work on metals, hardened steel components, jewelry, molds, and dies. The bullet profile allows access to recessed areas, bores, and contoured surfaces that flat-face bobs cannot reach. The 1/2-inch shank length combined with the 1-1/2-inch head length gives a total working reach appropriate for bench grinder spindles and pneumatic die grinder chucks. It is sold individually and is well-suited for both production finishing environments and detail repair work in the shop.
Designed for use with rotary tools, die grinders, and spindles accepting a 1/4-inch shank. Suitable as a replacement or supplemental polishing bob for standard finishing setups in machining, fabrication, and jewelry applications.
Installation is performed by trade machinists or finishing technicians using a standard collet chuck or keyless chuck compatible with a 1/4-inch shank. Ensure the rotary tool or die grinder is fully powered off and unplugged before inserting or removing the bob. Verify the chuck is tightened securely before operation to prevent the shank from slipping under load. Always apply polishing compound to the bob before bringing it into contact with the workpiece rather than applying compound directly to the surface.
