The VALUE COLLECTION 516146 is a conical mounted polishing bob made from rock hard density wool felt. It mounts to a rotary tool, die grinder, or flexible shaft machine via a 0.125 inch diameter shank and delivers consistent surface contact for fine polishing, buffing, and finishing work on metal, wood, and hard plastics. The conical geometry allows the tip to reach recessed areas, inside curves, and detail surfaces that flat or cylinder bobs cannot access. At 0.5 inches maximum diameter, this bob is suited for precision work where control and contact area matter more than aggressive material removal.
This mounted polishing bob is used in toolroom, production finishing, and bench-work applications. Machinists, jewelers, toolmakers, and metal finishers reach for this style when refining internal radii, mold cavities, or contoured workpiece surfaces. The 2 inch shank length provides clearance for recessed areas and allows secure chuck engagement. The rock hard felt density holds compound well and maintains its shape under sustained rotary contact, making it appropriate for consistent finish results across repeated passes.
Designed for use with rotary tools, die grinders, and flexible shaft machines equipped with a 0.125 inch collet or chuck. Suitable for metal, wood, and hard plastic finishing applications requiring a conical felt polishing profile.
Installation is performed by inserting the shank into the appropriate collet or chuck and tightening securely before operation. Verify the rotary tool or grinder is unplugged or the air supply is disconnected before mounting or removing the bob. Inspect the shank for runout or damage before each use, as a bent shank can cause vibration and uneven finish results. Apply polishing compound to the felt head before engaging the workpiece rather than pressing a dry bob into compound under load.
